TDWJC Meeting – August 21, 2021
At our August 21 meeting, we welcomed guest speaker Norma Green, a retired educator for the Cleburne ISD and the only woman of color elected to the Cleburne City Council. Norma presented a fascinating history of her civic and educational work in Cleburne, the county seat of Johnson County. She was an original staff member of the TEAM School, Cleburne ISD’s alternative high school, along with Carolyn Myres, who was its first principal. TEAM School opened its doors to students in 1990. At the time of its inception, the campus served every school district in Johnson County and also students from Glen Rose ISD.
